Socially engaged artists do some of the most vital work in our communities, and some of the most underfunded. This kind of practice is relational and slow, built in deep partnership with people and places.

A Blade of Grass (ABoG) is a national field-building organization that supports socially engaged artists across career stages and moments of need. We respond to what socially engaged artists need now by providing rapid-response funding while also building much-needed field infrastructure to support artists throughout their lives and careers.

Our organization is artist-led. Through this lens, we provide direct resources to artists and collectives across the country, with programs designed to be nimble and responsive to what artists and their communities need most.
